Artists Biography
Sandra Marshall, 2025

Sandra studied art formally and informally through a lifetime of exploration, including extensive travel during her college years, when she painted murals and portraits across continents. Her love for Italy led to the co-founding of Porta a Porta, a unique creative travel experience that brought American students to the Tuscan hillsides to learn painting in the heart of Renaissance country.

In 2015, Sandra opened Be...An Artist, a vibrant brick-and-mortar creative center where she taught painting, sculpture, mixed media, and even cooking classes. Over five years, the studio became a beloved community hub and was featured on Television over thirty times. Sandra's company earned recognition as the official artists for the NFL Owners Party, among other prestigious collaborations after they closed and expanded in 2019 to bring art to more people.

Sandra's innovation shines in her food art, where she transforms plant-based ingredients into stunning visual compositions before using them in meals. These edible artworks are meticulously photographed and featured in her published books for both adults and children which were featured numerous times on ABC, NBC, FOX, and other stations. Her adult book, One Hot Night at the Veggie Bar, celebrates culinary creativity, while her children’s book promotes healthy eating habits through whimsical stories and vibrant images of fruits and vegetables. Sandra frequently visits schools to teach kids about nutrition and the beauty of whole foods through storytelling and art.

Just as her national book tour was taking shape, life surprised Sandra with a soulful companion: a rescued pit bull named Theodore. Found on her doorstep needing love and a home with no owners to be found, Theodore quickly became her muse and partner in creativity. Every evening, he watches the sunset—moments that Sandra now immortalizes in a series of paintings and stories that imagine his past and celebrate their shared present.

Together, Sandra and Theodore have inspired a new body of work, including detailed adult coloring books based on their imagined adventures. These books serve as the centerpiece of large-scale community coloring events that raise funds for animal rescues across the country.

Sandra Marshall's art is rooted in passion, compassion, and imagination. Whether she's painting Theodore's 'Silent Sunsets', plating edible masterpieces, or drawing up Theodore's adventures, Sandra continues to create with heart, purpose, and a deep commitment to connection.
